First day in WISRD! super excited to start WISRD. I’ve been wanting to do this since I first viewed Wildwood and it feels a dream come true.

9/23/26

I’m joining a project on how does yeast react to micro plastic.

We’re doing this because micro plastics are everywhere and they’re in our bodies, and we should see what they do to the cells and yeast cells reproduce really fast so we’ll be able to see how much the micro plastic slow down the growth or change the growth of the yeast cell.

Today in class I’m going over my cell research i did in 7th and 8th grade science and going over the research I did in class today, and also researching research people are doing on micro plastic to get a better sense of what they are so I’m not going into the project blind.

Today I’m going over the material Sorren gave me for the experiment we’re doing. We also should meet at lunch today to go over the project and get a bearing on what we are doing.

Today I’m getting ready to start the experiment, learning what a PCR machine is and reading the new scoures that Megan is sending me today. I think we will start next week but I’m not sure.
