I’m still trying to decide what I specifically want my main project to be about. I wanted to explore more ideas and researched about nanoplastics and genetic engineering. I am trying to find the relation between those and medicinal plants.

I finished my inquirer pitch about certain bugs (locusts, ants, and honeybees) being able to detect cancer. This is a growing area of science that could benefit many people, animals, and plants that suffer with this disease. I plan to find its history, how it can benefit society, and where it has room to grow.

For my Inquirer, I decided to go into a different direction and focus my research on bugs being able to detect cancer. I didn’t know bugs could do this so I became curious.

I continued research on how radioactive certain foods were like bananas and brazil nuts to see how they compare to nuclear materials for my inquirer.

Today I focused my research on light pollution and the continued looking at the synergy between expired antibiotics and natural compounds. I also researched how radioactive bananas were for my Inquirer pitch.

In my research these past two days I focused more on the synergy between expired antibiotics and natural compounds. This caught my attention because I realized that scientists focus more on the synergy between antibiotics hat haven’t expired and natural compounds.

8/31/26

I swabbed my mouth with a cotton stick and spit into a tube for members in my class conducting an experiment about oral hygiene for females. I proceeded to continue research from last week.

-I conducted in depth research about medicine, cancer and plants to decide what I want my project to be about. I am currently coming up with research questions.

Today was the first day of WISRD and I got to know my classmates.
